Derek Flyn (Beauly / Inverness)

Derek Flyn (Beauly) passed away peacefully with family by his side at Highland Hospice, Inverness on Wednesday 18th June 2025. Derek was a devoted husband to Fiona (Nonie), much loved father to Rory, Martyn, Cal, father-in-law to Claire, Melanie, Richard, grandfather to Maisie, Daniel, Lucy, Theo, brother to Terry and uncle to Richard. Derek was a former Sheriff Clerk in Portree and married Fiona née Macmillan, Portree, in 1972. He was well known in the Highlands as a crofting solicitor, author, former Senior Partner at Macleod and MacCallum and former Chair of the Scottish Crofting Federation. A celebration of his life is to be held at Inverness Town House, Wednesday 2nd July at 3.00pm. All welcome.
