Making it Personal

Order of Service Sheets

We are proud to design and print all of our order of service sheets in-house to a very high standard. We have a forward-thinking design team who will work with you to produce an order of service to your requirements. The order of service acts a treasured keepsake after the funeral and can be posted to those who were not able to attend.

There is no limit to the number of service sheets we can print, from 1 to over 1000, we are here to help you out.

Music & Hymns

Music plays such an important role during a loved one’s funeral. It can bring back happy memories and provide a soundtrack to the person’s life. We can source and play virtually any song requested.

There is also ample space in our service room for live bands or soloists. Being in the Highlands of Scotland it is not uncommon for a piper to play at the service, something we can easily arrange on your behalf.

We are also able to provide a portable speaker for playing music at the graveside, something that has proved more popular during the current COVID-19 outbreak.

Our service room has a modern electric organ for hymns and traditional psalms and our organist will also take requests of modern songs, if desired.

Alternative Modes of Transport

We have previously had the coffin taken to the cemetery or crematorium using a horse drawn hearse, something very traditional and not often seen nowadays. We can advise on costs and availability.

Other meaningful final journeys have included the cortege being led out by a lorry with a specially designed catafalque for the coffin to sit on. We have also had a number of local bikers and car enthusiasts lead the cortege to the cemetery.

Green Funerals

A green burial, also known as a woodland burial, is an eco-friendly alternative to a traditional burial.

For a woodland burial, a biodegradable coffin or casket is used, usually made from wicker, willow, cardboard or wool.

Most woodland burial sites do not permit the use of a headstone to mark the grave, instead existing landmarks and GPS coordinates are used to identify the grave.

The closest woodlands burial site to us is Delliefure, in the Cairngorms National Park. We have brochures available at our Funeral Home and more information can be found on their website: www.cairngormsnaturalburials.co.uk/
