Barbara MacAskill (Inverness)

Peacefully, on Sunday 17 March 2024 at the Highland Hospice, Barbara MacAskill, 30 Lawers Way, Inverness, aged 75 years. Retired nurse at Craig Dunain and New Craigs. Long-term companion of Terry, much loved mother of Barbara and Freddy, Granny to Dolly and Colm, Great Granny to Siobhan, Zander, Aria, Jack and Drew, loving sister of Donald, Lorna, Vivian and the late Florence and a dearly loved aunt and friend to so many. Funeral Service on Tuesday 2 April 2024 at Dalarossie Church at 12.45 pm, thereafter to the burial ground. Family Flowers only please. Donations for the Highland Hospice welcomed at the Service or via William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness. All invited.

Barbara’s wish was for everyone to wear or carry a touch of tartan at the service.

Leave the A9 at the Tomatin Junction.

Follow the signs to the village of Tomatin.

Staying on the same road, drive another mile. Turn right just before the concrete bridge over the river (sign says Coignafearn and Garbole) Drive four miles along the single track road before turning left, off the road into a field. There is a finger signpost saying Dalarossie Church and there will be a flag on the gate to help you find it. Dalarossie Church is at the other side of the field on the banks of the river. Please Note: If you come to a hump-backed bridge you have missed the turning to Dalarossie. Turn round, drive back the way you came, past a house, and you will see Dalarossie Church on your right.
