Gerald Wiener (Inverness)

Peacefully at home, on Thursday 28th of September 2023, Gerald Wiener FRSE (Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh) Inverness, aged 97 years. A child refugee from Nazi Germany he loved Britain and went on to have a highly successful academic career in the field of animal genetics. He was close colleagues with the Dolly the Sheep team. More recently he was particularly concerned by the needs of the planet and climate change. Beloved husband of the late Margaret, loved and missed by all his family and many friends both home and abroad. Funeral on Friday 13th of October at 3.00pm in the funeral home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness. No flowers please. Donations invited at the service or via the funeral directors for Friends of the Earth.
