Simon Young (Inverness / Portmahomack / Tain)

Very suddenly but peacefully at Culduthel Care Home, Inverness on Saturday 5th September 2026, Simon George Young, late of Tarrel, Portmahomack and Morangie Lodge, Tain, aged 80 years. Loving and dearly loved husband of Margie, adored Dad of Catriona, Sarah and Emma, a very special Grandad to Finlay, Fergus, Esme, Rory, Josh and Ella, a dear brother, uncle and friend to many. Family service held in the funeral home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness. A memorial service in Dornoch Cathedral will take place on Tuesday 22nd September at 2.00pm, to which all are warmly invited.
Donations in memory of Simon in support of Dornoch Cathedral can be given at the service or via the funeral directors.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all relatives and friends for their love and support over the last few weeks and for joining us in Dornoch Cathedral to celebrate Simon’s life. Your presence, kind words and shared memories brought great comfort to us during this very sad time.

We are deeply grateful for the generous donations made to Dornoch Cathedral in Simon’s memory.  The sum of £803.50 was raised.

Special thanks to the Rev Carol Anne Porter for the beautiful service, to Duncan MacGillivray for his wonderful piping, as well as to Roddy MacLean, and Stephen Mackintosh for the music and Livestream.  Also to William T Fraser & Son for their kind support and for taking care of all the arrangements.

We will always be profoundly grateful to Culduthel Care Home for their loving care of Simon during the last seven months.
